When he gets up on that stage-
A poet can only be himself,If he reveals his inner rage.
A poets words may never expire,
As he explores a poets desire.
A poet may be unemotional,
As he reveals his inner soul.
Often hidden within, maybe there is a tear,
Only the Poet will really know.
A poets words might make you think-
A task as old as time!
Some poets can be such a bore
As they ramble on in thought
Some poets can be such a joy
When they give you all they've got.
Poets can be almost anyone
they can be as you or me,
Poets will say whatever they want,
Just to be, what they want to be.
